The Story Behind
SUL NYC Insider

Real stories from the streets, subways, and skylines of the city that never sleeps.

New York is not a city you can describe from a distance. It's loud, layered, beautiful, brutal, and impossible to fully understand unless you actually live in it. That's exactly why this blog exists — to share New York the way it really is, not the way travel websites pretend it to be.

Why This Blog Exists

I noticed something every time I read other NYC travel blogs: most of them are written by people who've never spent more than a week here. They list the same tourist traps, repeat the same generic advice, and miss the small details that make New York actually work.

SUL NYC Insider exists to fix that. Every article on this site comes from real moments — standing on a hot subway platform in July, watching the sunset from the Brooklyn Bridge, paying $18 for a sandwich and learning the hard way which delis are worth it.

You don't write about New York the way you write about other cities. You write about it the way you survive it — one block, one season, one story at a time.

— Editorial Coverage

Everything New York

From hidden subway stops to luxury rooftops — we cover every layer of the city.

Who This Is For

SUL NYC Insider is written for travelers planning their first trip to New York City, returning visitors looking for something beyond the usual tourist spots, people considering moving to NYC or New Jersey, and anyone curious about how this city actually works day to day.

If you prefer honest, detailed advice over hype — you're in the right place.

A Word on Honesty

New York is an incredible city, but it's not perfect. This blog will tell you when something is overrated, when a "must-see" attraction isn't worth the wait, and when a hidden spot is actually as good as people say.

Honest opinions matter more than promotional ones. That's a promise we don't break.
